- Religion, Politics, and Paris Hilton: Case Study Rogers, Michael Public Libraries Librarians Case Studies Interpersonal Relationship Freedom of Speech This article was sent into a column of "Library Journal" entitled "How Do You Manage?" Submissions to this column, are based on actual events in libraries across the United States and Canada. This particular piece describes a conversation between two library employees, where one, following a recovery from a devastating auto accident found Jesus, and tries to spread the news of his newly discovered salvation to his co- workers. When told that conversations about such a personal subject as religion in the work place often makes co- workers uncomfortable, the religious employee's answer is that everyone is willing to chatter endlessly about the President and the war, gay marriage, and Paris Hilton's latest sexcapades video, then why should discussing religion and one's personal salvation be any more taboo? This is a situation, practically everyone has experienced has experienced in the work place at one time or another.
