He describes how computers in libraries have transformed almost every aspect of how the library provides its services and performs its work behind the scenes. In addition, the author shares a few successful strategies that might be useful to others, for example: (1) See the big picture; (2) Understand the details; (3) Develop a specialty; (4) Practice hands-on management; (5) Know what you don't know; (6) Seek broad experiences; (7) Understand the importance of context; and (8) Research constantly.
