The publication of this creative and inventive title led to the numerous fractured fairy tales published since its release in 1989. His books have received numerous state awards including a number that are voted on by children. He credits "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss as the book that made "The Stinky Cheese Man" possible. The work of Dr. Seuss had much influence on Scieszka's ability to have confidence in writing humorous stories for children. A selected bibliography and suggestions for related classroom activities are also provided. |
