Over twenty years ago, Gardner (1983) introduced the theory of multiple intelligences. According to Gardner, each individual possesses at least eight different intelligences, each with varied abilities. The eight intelligences are identified as linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, intrapersonal, interpersonal, and naturalist. This article discusses ways in which elementary school media specialists can promote activities fostering four of these intelligences: linguistic, spatial, musical, and bodily-kinesthetic. Suggestions for related classroom activities are also included.
