Internet Human Body Web Sites Diseases Elementary School Students Middle School Students According to the American Heritage Dictionary, disease is "a pathological condition of a part, organ, or system of an organism resulting from various causes, such as infection, genetic defect, or environmental stress, and characterized by an identifiable group of signs or symptoms" (2000). Students in upper elementary school and in middle school often need information on diseases for health and/or science reports. This article provides a selective list of resources that provide some general information about diseases of the human body, as well as some selected resources that pertain to specific diseases.
