This article relates how Lakeland's librarian hired ShirWin Knowledge & Learning Systems, Inc., a small software company based in Edmonton, Alberta. Details of the collaboration between the library staff and ShirWin's people to come up with an affordable customized Web site are presented. Tips on how other companies may develop their Web sites on shoestring budgets are also discussed.
