The article details efforts by the Library of Congress' National Recording Preservation Board and Syracuse's Belfer Audio Archive and Laboratory to bridge the divide between the preservationists and the industry in an atmosphere of healthy debate and common goal-setting, defining a set of synergistic opportunities that will help the two groups to become allies rather than adversaries in developing a streamlined rights model.
