Returning to a childhood dream of being an author, Stanley began as an illustrator, but has since published more than 40 children's books. She is best known for her biographies and fairy-tale retellings in picture-book format. "The decision to be a medical illustrator was made with my head," Stanley said. "The decision to become a children's author was made with my heart." |
