- Overwhelming Evidence: Now, There's a Surefire Way to Show How Libraries Make a Big Difference in Student's Lives Oatman, Eric Grade 8 Research Methodology Research Skills Librarians Information Literacy Online Searching Grade 7 Librarian Teacher Cooperation Program Descriptions Program Effectiveness Case Studies Students at Gill St. Bernard's are introduced to guided inquiry as soon as they enter either the middle or upper school. It's the job of the research librarian, to guide younger students along the path to information literacy, the ability to locate, evaluate, and use needed information. The research librarian meets seventh and eighth graders twice a week for 45 minutes throughout the year. She also teaches all the research skills and exposes students to various databases as well as paper materials.
