She has also learned a few things about how they approach the writing process. Here are some things to keep in mind when working with younger writers: (1) Younger students are capable writers; (2) Younger students need a road map; (3) Younger writers need to illustrate their work; (4) Younger writers need time to "write out loud"; and (5) Younger students need a place to write.
