A growing number of public libraries have a virtual presence on the Web. Virtual libraries are a growing addition to school library media collections. The next logical step would be personal virtual libraries. A personal virtual library (PVL) is a collection of Web resources and tools selected to meet the information needs of individuals. In this article, the author talks about the significance of personal virtual library and describes how she created PVLs for an elementary student and a middle school teacher. She also presents selection criteria used by library media specialists for specific Web resources for a PVL and offers tips in storing and using one's PVL. (Contains 4 tables.)
