Throughout history, humans have always expressed the desire to personalize and beautify their homes. Decorating is about beautifying a home, not about designing its structural elements (that belongs in the interior design category). Decorating involves such activities as painting a room or refurbishing old furniture and adding accessories such as wall art, window treatments like curtains or blinds, slipcovers, pillows, and cushions for sofas and armchairs, and more.
