Both organizations, American Association of School Librarians (AASL) and the Partnership for 21st Century Skills, frame an educational experience that goes beyond traditional academic learning while putting a greater emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving. As the debate and commentary continue regarding the new "AASL Standards for the 21st-Century Learner," it is important to compare the language used in both organizations' documents. This article presents an examination of the language used in both organizations' documents.
