Oftentimes school library media specialists are spread thin in order to serve their patrons, and yet the public's demands for fast and quick access to information never stop. It pays for the school library media specialists to have at their fingertips a knowledge of authoritative Web reference sources to supplement the print sources in their collection. To assist in this effort, presented in this article is a selective list of authoritative reference sites with basic information including URL, year started, purpose or mission, authoritativeness, currency, availability of annotations, awards/recognition, special reference services for children, ask expert services, and type of reference sources featured.
