  • The Pedagogy of the Heart and the Mind--Cultivating Curiosity and a Love of Learning, Part 2 Carmichael, Patricia Independent Study Interests School Libraries Higher Education Learning Resources Centers Library Role Creativity Motivation Teacher Response Student Reaction Librarians This article is the second part of a two-part article on a learning project developed through the Independent Learning Centre (ILC) program at Concordia Lutheran College. The first part of this article can be found in the January 2009 issue of this journal and discusses how the applications of the "AASL Standards for the 21st-Century Learner" (2007) can revive the importance of library media centers and the role of the teacher librarian and truly make a difference in the learning lives of students. Part Two explains the importance of developing creativity and personal interest in students, another factor in leverage for library media centers to accommodate change. (Contains 1 table and 1 figure.) [For "The Pedagogy of the Heart and the Mind--Cultivating Curiosity and a Love of Learning, Part 1", see EJ820270.]
