In this information age, teacher-librarians make sure that children grow up and thrive in a world that requires not just knowledge, but the ability to tap into vast collections of information. Teacher-librarians also teach what is called information literacy. This involves teaching children not only how to find information but also how to figure out if it is the kind of information they need. They teach them that not all information is created equal, and that some sources are better than others. They teach them to be intelligent searchers and smart users.
