  • Thinking about Dispositions and the Elementary School Library DeBell, Charlotte Parker, Marie Sand, Jean School Libraries Personality Elementary Schools Academic Standards Librarian Teacher Cooperation Research Projects Library Policy Now that American Association of School Librarians (AASL) has adopted the "Standards for the 21st-Century Learner," elementary library media specialists are beginning to reflect on how they will change their practice. Just when they felt they had achieved a high degree of addressing the skills called for in their standards, they are now challenged to include dispositions in their teaching. When the authors started to reflect on them, they felt that they are certainly beneficial and add an important new dimension to the research process. However, how can they best implement and evaluate them? The authors have started to chart a course to accomplish these lofty goals. They discuss their strategies in this article.
