If academic archivists are to make progress in their mission to ensure selection, preservation, and accessibility of their institutions' records, they need to be engaged in all areas that challenge their resources, training, and even their professional position. Despite the daunting nature of these challenges, there are some approaches that are appropriate and bring attention to the critical issues and opportunities archivists face. (Contains 19 notes.)
