Librarians often talk about the importance of outreach and of bringing services to the patrons in the places where they are located, and the author has heard many colleagues wonder about the efficacy or potential futility of delivering their services via these tools. This column will highlight some of the early research that has been done in this area, along with pointing out a few useful guides to getting started with various Web 2.0 technologies in a library setting.
