contents Going Green: Greening Your Marketing Efforts Germain, Carol Anne Academic Libraries Conservation (Environment) Library Services Outreach Programs Marketing Library Facilities There is no doubt that the "Going Green" movement is in full swing. With global warming and other ecological concerns, people are paying closer attention to environmental issues and striving to live in a more sustainable world. For libraries, this is a perfect opportunity to be active in a campus-wide program and simultaneously promote library resources and services. Libraries are no strangers to eco-friendly endeavors, since they have long been on the forefront of promoting the "reuse" aspect of the environmental 3Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle), through the lending and reprocessing of books and other materials. With the current greening efforts, the author discusses how libraries can continue to provide support to patrons by distributing informational materials, offering facilities for recycling, and sponsoring group space to limit energy consumption.
