It provides an historical overview of the Chinese book publishing and exporting practice, identifies and evaluates current online and printed resources for selection and methods of acquisition, and discusses the problems commonly faced by academic libraries. It also addresses the current state of book publishing and book exporting operations as they respond to China's new status as a member of the World Trade Organization and what this means to libraries in North America.
