| contents | Learning in the Archives: A Report on Instructional Practices Krause, Magia G. Archives Teaching Methods Surveys Primary Sources Library Instruction This article reports on the results of a survey of instructional practices in a variety of archival and manuscript repositories. The results of the survey suggest that archives professionals devote a significant amount of time and energy to instructing users of primary sources. However, a relatively small number of respondents conduct formal evaluations of their instruction. This lack of assessment results in a lack of information about the effectiveness of instruction and its impact on users. (Contains 53 notes, 10 tables, and 1 figure.) |
