One should always remember that the ultimate goal of media specialists is to develop in their students a love of reading as a pleasurable activity and a lifelong habit. Thus, media specialists play a role in teaching students to read, and they need to perform that role if they want school administrators and politicians to see them as key players in that role. In this article, the authors discuss the dynamic partnerships of a reading teacher and a school media specialist, a public and a school library, and reading and writing in order to improve student reading scores. |
