In many cases, however, that merger has proven to be administrative rather than functional, with minimal integration of common workflows. This article describes a significant attempt by the Circulation and Interlibrary Loan Services Departments at the University of Colorado, Boulder, to restructure workflows and redistribute personnel in order to achieve a more efficient, integrated, and nimble work unit, an Access Services Department in more than name only.
