Rethinking Electronic Resource Management Rux, Erika Borchert, Theresa Library Services Library Automation Library Development Information Management Database Management Systems Electronic Libraries Program Development Program Descriptions Program Effectiveness Library Materials Computer System Design Performance Factors As libraries face a veritable explosion of electronic resources and as the interconnectedness of print and online resources becomes increasingly complicated, many librarians are challenged to find efficient and cost-friendly ways to manage these resources. In this article, the authors describe how a team of people from various library departments at Concordia College created and implemented a resource manager. The library's Zoho database is a fully functional tool through which the library staff can organize detailed information about resources; add, modify, and delete data in real time; continue to make customizations as their needs change; and easily access data to complete routine and intermittent tasks.
