- The End of an Era...Falling off a Cliff Zmuda, Allison Conferences (Gatherings) School Libraries Librarians Library Associations Library Development Trend Analysis Competence Change Strategies Organizational Change Skill Analysis This article is an adaptation of a speech, "Leading the Transformation of Education for the 21st-Century," given by Allison Zmuda at the American Library Association National Conference in Washington D.C. on June 26, 2010, for the American Association of School Librarian's President's Program. In her speech, Allison poses a challenge to school librarians. She explains that what lies ahead is the unknown, it is like falling off a cliff, but she establishes why that is a good thing and how school librarians are on the cutting edge.
