Now colleagues, suggestions, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) are merely a click away. There has never been more of a need for a Professional Learning Community than today. In this article, the author talks about a virtual PLC in a local five-country area which makes it easy for members to mine great ideas and often, easy to share those cold, hard facts that one might hesitate to point out face-to-face. Although there are shortcomings to virtual connection that will not replace the intimate goal of detailed examination of teaching delivery that really is encouraged within a true PLC, the author stresses that this is a good start for those lone ranger librarians working to improve their program who need a jump start.
