  • Leveraging Site Search and Analytics to Maintain a User-Centered Focus Mitchell, Erik Internet Web Sites Libraries Users (Information) Information Management Library Services Search Strategies Search Engines Online Searching Web design is a necessarily iterative process. During the process, it can be difficult to balance the interests and focus of the library site experts and their novice users. It can also be easy to lose focus on the main goals of site use and become wrapped up in the process of design or coding or in the internal politics of site design. Just as the Web has made the distribution of information easier, it has also made the process of gathering data on how users use information easier. By employing techniques such as search optimization and use analytics, libraries can work to keep their design implementation focused on user outcomes.
