  • How to Get Published, Part I Lonergan, David Library Science Periodicals Librarians Tenure Writing for Publication Publish or Perish Issue Faculty Publishing Higher Education Some librarians are required to publish a certain amount as part of earning tenure. Some choose to do research and write articles as a form of self-expression, because of intellectual curiosity, or perhaps to justify bearing faculty status. For whatever reason(s) librarians might want (or need) to see their own work in print, this article offers some thoughts that should increase their chances of success. The author discusses other aspects of publishing, such as choosing specific journals, figuring out whether one will derive benefit from his/her college, and so on. The author also looks at the business of getting started publishing in library science journals.
