- YALSA 2011 Fabulous Films & Amazing Audiobooks Films Audio Books Adolescent Literature Fiction Nonfiction Fantasy The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), announced its 2011 annual lists of Fabulous Films for Young Adults and Amazing Audiobooks for Young Adults ages 12 to 18. This article presents the titles which were released in January 2011 during the ALA Midwinter meeting in San Diego, California. The Fabulous Films for Young Adults list identifies films relating to a theme that will appeal to young adults ages 12-18. These fiction and nonfiction titles, based on the theme "Other Times/Other Places," encompass different film genres and show teens reacting to the society around them and how they develop as individuals. The Amazing Audiobooks for Young Adults list is chosen from items released during the previous two years. The titles represent diverse genres and styles, including historical fiction, fantasy, and realistic fiction.
