  • A Cross-Disciplinary Examination of Print Resources on Abortion Johnson, Wendell G. Printed Materials Pregnancy Controversial Issues (Course Content) Interdisciplinary Approach Educational Resources Information Sources Library Materials Reference Services Information Needs Library Services Abortion is a highly-charged, emotional topic which often appears in the news, particularly during the confirmation process for a Supreme Court nominee. Community College students continue to ask reference librarians for print resources dealing with this controversial issue. Often we turn to the reliable series "Current Controversies," "At Issue," or "Opposing Viewpoints" (all published by Greenhaven Press). Librarians should keep these valuable texts in mind, but also realize that a wealth of information also resides on the reference shelves. This article looks at reference resources from a variety of disciplines (Religion and Philosophy, History, Sociology, Political Science, and Medicine) and examines how they treat the topic of abortion.
