The redevelopment of the existing Engineering Library into a Student Learning Centre (SLC) embraces the new Melbourne Model of teaching: facilitating collaborative learning while acting as a point for interaction and social activity. The challenges in this project included working within an existing building, making the most of a limited budget and aligning the space with new teaching and learning pedagogy. Learning is about discovery and change--learning spaces must support this process. The SLC provides a number of formal and informal spaces that respond to the pedagogical shift, creating an innovative adaptable environment. |
