These dissertations offer a rich base of research conducted in a country known for its innovative geographical research and tradition. Particular strengths and trends were discerned and concentrations of institutional base and activity established. This study can serve as a template for other national research traditions and disciplines, and is especially useful for library science and those interested in characteristics of literature studies.
