- Tools and guidelines for watershed management in the South-Western region of Sri Lanka for increased climate resilience with a special focus on tea growing areas ILO Country Office for Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The rural and agrarian economy is vulnerable to climate driven disasters, which occur with increasing frequency in Sri Lanka. As such, the informal work and workers based around plantations in the region undergo recurrent disruptions due to adverse climate-related incidents. This publication presents a replicable model useful for mitigating and building disaster resilience in an acutely climate vulnerable sector through the proper management of watershed areas.
