- The GIK-Archive of radiographs is a collection of X-ray negative images from sediment cores, prepared and exposed since the early 1960s. During four decades of marine geological work at the University of Kiel, Germany (Werner, 1998), a thousand hours of sampling, careful preparation and x-raying were spent to produce a unique archive of sediment radiographs. The archive consists of more than 18500 exposures on chemical film that were digitized, geo-referenced, supplemented with metadata and archived in the data library PANGAEA.
