| contents | The data contain time series of cloud optical thickness, cloud particle effective radius, and effective snow grain size retrieved from airborne spectral reflectivity measurements during the Vertical Distribution of Ice in Arctic Clouds (VERDI) campaign 2012 over the Beaufort Sea. Along the flight track of the Polar 5 aircraft operated by the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI), the cloud and snow properties were derived simultaneously by applying a trispectral retrieval algorithm using reflectivity ratios as described by Ehrlich et al. (2017). Corresponding spectral nadir reflectivities measured by the spectral modular airborne radiation measurement system (SMART) at 645 nm, 860 nm, 1040 nm, 1655 nm, and 2100 nm wavelength are provided. Satellite observations of the moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) cloud product Collection 6 were extracted along the flight track. |
