collection Datos científicos de ciencias marinas y ambientales
contents Temperature measures started in 2013 by the MAArE Project - Environmental Monitoring of Reserva Biológica Marinha do Arvoredo and Surroundings. The project was developed by a partnership between the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) and Reserva Biológica Marinha do Arvoredo (REBIO Arvoredo), a marine MPA at Santa Catarina State, Southern Brazil. The principal goal was to raise biological and abiotic data to support management programs. Data loggers are fixed over submerged rock boulders at 2-10m depth in coastal islands (-27.24°, -48.36°). Temperature data are registered every 20 minutes. The project was funded by PETROBRAS as a requirement for an environmental permit. Today, the continuity of the temperature time series is supported by the Brazilian Environmental Agency (ICMBIO) local staff, and Instituto Ilha do Campeche and IPHAN - Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional.
