contents This data set consists on vertical profiles of singularity exponents derived from ocean currents measurements taken in the North-Western Atlantic ocean. The original data set consisted on vertical profiles of velocities obtained by an RD Instruments 75kHz Ocean Surveyor ADCP mounted on a ship-of-opportunity, the container Ro/Ro ship Oleander, along the line Bermuda - New Jersey (http://po.msrc.sunysb.edu/Oleander/). Singularity exponents were computed using a modified version of the algorithm proposed by Pont et al. (2013, doi:10.1080/00207160.2012.748895) that takes into account the existence of data gaps when computing the smallest accessible scale and the asymmetry between vertical and horizontal samplings. The data is organized in transects containing the singularity exponents of velocity components: East-West and North-South on one side and along ship's track and perpendicular to ship's track on the other side. Files also includes the singularity exponents of velocity modulus.
