contents For understanding cross-section underwater sound speed structure near the Kuroshio, these sound speed data were obtained using expendable conductivity temperature depth (XCTD) profilers and expendable bathythermographs (XBTs) .This observation operation was performed using survey vessel "Meiyo". XBT sound speed data were calculated using nearby XCTD data. Sound speeds were calculated based on Del Grosso (1974). In this dataset, cast data before sound speed conversion are also included. These data were compared and discussed with the Global Navigation Satellite System-Acoustic ranging (GNSS-A) data in Yokota et al.
