contents The dataset contains aerial RGB images and supplementary data of scientific helicopter missions during Polarstern cruise PS106/1 - PASCAL and PS106/2 - SiPCA. Measurements were performened within the secondary user project TEMPO. Focus of the helicopter flights was on recording melt pond development in its early phase of the summer season. Images were recorded downwards every 4 seconds with a CANON EOS 1D Mark III DSLR + CANON EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM lens.
