contents IODP Site U1501 (18°53.09′N, 115°45.95′E, water depth: 2846 m) is situated on the west side of Pearl River Canyon. The length for hole C at IODP Site U1501 is up to 461.8 m, covering the last 40 Ma (Jian et al., 2018; Ma et al., 2019). 31 samples were selected at 20 cm intervals from the interval from 92.86 to 99.29 m, which spans from 5.2-5.8 Ma (Jian et al., 2018). All 31 samples of IODP Site U1501 are analyzed by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission (ICP-OES) to acquire the major elemental contents in Peking University during June 2021. We use the major element data to calculate the provenance proxies (Hu et al., 2021), then further discuss the change of Taiwan input during the late Miocene.
