  • This data set consist of P-wave receiver function in SAC (Seismic Analysis Code -- https://seiscode.iris.washington.edu/projects/sac) format. Event and station information is contained in the header of each SAC file. The data were recorded over the western portion of the Makran Subduction Zone in southern Iran between mid-2016 and late 2020 in a collaborative seismic experiment carried out by Bullard Laboratories, University of Cambridge, Cambridge, U.K and Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS), Zanjan, Iran. In addition receiver functions were derived from recording from two seismic stations operated by the International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (CHBR, ZHSF) and one seismic station operated by the University of Tehran (ZHDN). P-wave receiver functions for all recorded events greater than body-wave magnitude 5.5 in the distance range 30 to 90 degrees were rotated from north-south and east-west to radial and transverse with respect to the event-station great-circle path, and receiver functions were computed using the iterative deconvolution method of Ligorria and Ammon [1999]. To eliminate high frequency noise and to stabilize the time domain deconvolution, all receiver function waveforms were low-passed using a Gaussian filter of width width 2.5. In addition, the CHBR receiver functions were also low-passed using a Gaussian filter of width width 5.0 to examine finer detains in the subsurface structure beneath that site.
