contents The dataset contains the inclination and relative paleointensity (RPI) data during 11.5-14.5 ka of core NC2,which is located at the northen South China Sea (114.27E, 21.67N). The age of the core are reconstructed based on 12 Accelerator Mass Spectrometry(AMS) radiocarbon ages. The RPI results are reconstructed using a ratio of natural remanent magnetization (NRM) and saturation isothermal remanence (SIRM). The inclination results were isolated from the natureal remanent magnetization between 20 and 50 mT. Three intervals of abonormal shallow inclination results between 11.5-14.5ka indicate an rapid and frequent geomagnetic excursion event.
