contents The laminated sediments estimated as a varve were obtained on the Bowers Ridge in the Bering Sea by Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) Expedition 323 in 2009. The name and the estimated geological ages of the studied sediment cores are Cores IODP Expedition 323-U1340A-10H and 14H, and ~528 ka and ~782 ka, respectively. This dataset contains the thickness of laminated sediments, the micropaleontological count data on diatom fossils, and the composition of rare earth elements in the laminated sediment facies in the studied sediment cores. There are two different data on the micropaleontological diatom counts; one is the count results of diatom fragments in the back-scattered electron images of thin sections for the studied laminated sediments, and another is the count results of diatom valves remaining at least half of the intact shape encountered in the microscopic observation of smear slides for some subsamples from the laminated sediments.
