  • Sediment echosounder (Teledyne Parasound P70 echosounder) data are generally retrieved to get information on the characteristics of the upper tens of meters of the sub-seafloor. Raw primary high frequency (PHF) and secondary low frequency (SLF) echo sounding data were retrieved during POLARSTERN cruise PS134 (WAIS-BELL) and are archived here in ASD and PS3 format. During POLARSTERN cruise PS134, Parasound data formed the basis for determination of appropriate coring locations. The entire dataset of cruise PS134 is archived here, including data from international waters off South Africa to Neumayer Station, towards the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula and further into the Bellingshausen Sea and finally towards Punta Arenas.
