contents This dataset contains high resolution surface elevation data of glaciers in Svalbard, collected in aerial surveys of the research aircraft Polar 5. The elevation and near infrared reflectivities provided by the airborne laser scanner RIEGEL VQ-580 are made available as rasterized digital elevation models. The focus during the acquisition was on glaciers with dynamic behavior such as glacial surges. Therefore, the covered area mostly includes selected individual glaciers that were surveyed in July and August 2023. In the region of Heer Land the glaciers Vallåkrabreen, Mettebreen, Ragna-Mariebreen and Scheelebreen are covered. Further, the glaciers Borebreen, Slakbreen and Blankfjellbreen (tributary of Nathorstbreen) were all surveyed. All data are provided with a resolution of 5 meters, projected in EPSG:32633 with EGM2008 as vertical datum.
