| contents | Raw multibeam bathymetry data were collected aboard RV SONNE during cruise SO308/2 (PlanOz‐T) using a 12kHz Kongsberg EM 122 multibeam echosounder with 2x2 beam width. The expedition took place during 2024-12-26 – 2025-01-13 from Fremantle (Australia) to Wellington (New Zealand) in the Great Australian Bight and the Tasman Sea. Objectives of the Research & Training Cruise for the Universities of Bremen and Hamburg on SONNE expedition SO308/2 were to study: - Regional patterns of phyto-, micro- and mesozooplankton biomass, biodiversity & species composition and micronekton fauna - Relationship between zooplankton biodiversity and ecological productivity of the ocean region - Functional biodiversity: Role of different functional traits within zooplankton communities - Trophic interactions & marine foodweb structure: Establish trophic positions, predator-prey interactions, dietary spectra based on biomarkers (SI, FA) - Trace energy and carbon fluxes along marine food chains - Ecosystem functioning & biological carbon pump: Impact of zooplankton composition on biological carbon pump. - Training of students in state-of-the-art field-work methods in an international atmosphere. Data were recorded in the EEZ of Australia as well as outside EEZs. Sound velocity profiles (SVP) were applied on the data for calibration. The data are unprocessed and can therefore contain incorrect depth measurements (artifacts) if not further processed. Note that refraction errors may occur when no proper SVP is applied. Data acquisition was done by University of Bremen and Hamburg, provision of the data is supported by the DAM Underway Project and published according to the FAIR principles. |
