| contents | he Neodymium (Nd) isotopic signature (εNd) has been widely used as a proxy to reconstruct past ocean circulation. Recently it has been increasingly questioned which archives can be reliably used to extract authigenic εNd used for the reconstruction of past ocean circulation and under which environmental conditions bottom seawater εNd are altered and the original water mass signature is overprinted. This dataset contains Nd isotope compositions of authigenic and detrital sedimentary phases from the abyssal Pacific Ocean, focusing on the behavior of the Nd isotope composition in oxic deep-sea sediments during early diagenesis. Samples were collected during cruise SO268 in 2019 using multicorers. Authigenic phases were extracted through a 10s leaching procedure using 0.005 M hydroxylammonium hydrochloride, 1.5% acetic acid, and 0.03 M Na-EDTA buffered to ca. pH 4 with NaOH solution (Huang et al., 2021). The detrital sediment fraction was processed using alkaline fusion. Neodymium was purified using first BIORAD AG50W-X12 resin, followed by Eichchrom Ln-spec resin. Samples were measured by MC-ICP-MS |
