contents Filtered plankton samples from 8 stations taken during the Meteor cruise M75/2 off Tanzania in March 2006 were analyzed for their coccolithophore content. Using a scanning electron microscope, a living community of 47 species was observed, of which only three species contributed significantly to the species community, and two distinct depth-related assemblages were identified.
