contents This dataset presents GDGT-based proxy data derived from sediment core SO130_289KL (23°07.34′N, 66°29.84′E; 571 m water depth) in the northeastern Arabian Sea, covering the last deglaciation with emphasis on GI-1. Analyses were conducted using mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) on sediment slices at 200 µm resolution. The crenarchaeol–caldarchaeol tetraether index (CCaT) was calculated from GDGT-0 and GDGT-5 compounds detected via MALDI-FT-ICR-MS. Although CCaT can be converted to SST using published calibrations, in this setting the proxy primarily reflects water column oxygenation and oxygen minimum zone (OMZ) intensity rather than temperature. Variability in CCaT is interpreted to be driven by South Asian summer monsoon (SASM) wind strength and associated upwelling and circulation changes. Depth is presented as centimeters below seafloor (cmbsf) and age as before the year 2000 CE (b2k).
